Phone/Internet/Electricity/Rain water/Handover

Gussek/ProHaus is FINALLY out! We got our keys yesterday, the lock got changed and they can’t get back in.  I was going to let you know in detail what all is wrong with that company, but it’s 1am and I am tired and exhausted from all the stuff going on. Let me just say: Don’t built with Gussek if you can avoid it in any way. Don’t get me wrong, the house is great, but they messed so much stuff up that cost us so much time, its’ not even funny. Example: They had to put a heating system, water softener and air conditioning in. They did put it in, but all 3 of them so wrong that our heating didn’t work, air condition had to be rebuilt and the water softener flooded our floor in the laundry room. Again: I can NOT recommend that company. Pick a different one.  It took 8 months, 3 weeks and 1 day for us to get our keys after they put up the house. 23 months, 2 weeks and 4 days since we signed the contract. Funny part about that is that they claim to have you moving in 3 months after they put up the house. We just now got the keys so we can have our painter and tile guy do their job while we lay down the hardwood floors. This will take maybe up to March (because the floors are still not dry – Gussek was incapable to turn our heater on for forever and a day even though several companies told them for WEEKS how to do it) so by that point we will probably have it the 1 year mark since the house got put up. This is a 9 months delay. People can have a baby in 9 month :p
Anyway, to cut a long story short we are more then glad to be done dealing with them and happy that we can finally start working on our stuff to get ready to move in.
Since my last post we got phone, internet, electricity, rain waiter, and now the keys to our house (check the timeline if you are into details). We have light switches and outlets and a working heater. It’s also kind of nice to have actual working lights so that at night we don’t have to use flashlights anymore. What a luxury! 😉
