Progress 3

More and more things are getting done. Today the bathtub and shower in our bathroom got done. The guest bathroom is almost done and our kitchen and living room walls are turquoise. The turquoise kitchen walls might seem a lot, but remember that our kitchen is high gloss white and going all around both walls. This will result in barely any turquoise being visible.

We are making progress! Our painter is doing a fantastic job and is really making it look like a house we will be able to live in. Our tile guy is also working great and we finally have some floors. Lavinia was pretty disappointed when she saw the kitchen tiles though, saying “But mom! They are soooo dirty! Why did you pick out and order DIRTY tiles?” She was very upset, but as soon as I told her we could wash them and they would be clean when we move in she was all kinds of happy again.
The color paint arrived and the kids are amazed by all the colors that will go in their rooms. Lavinia picked purple & yellow, Lillian green & blue and Ryan blue. Some walls in the kitchen/living room area will be turquoise. Our painter said he was actually asked if he was currently painting a kindergarten 😉 – well, … something like that 😀

Cant wait to see all the walls being painted. I am also excited to see if our magnetic paint – which will arrive later today – will work.

A whole new wooooorld…

Our painter started his thing last Monday (January 16h) and so far it looks like a whole new world. Keep in mind, this is only the primer after he was sanding the walls. The actual white paint is not even on the walls yet. 🙂 Our tile guy will start tomorrow (January 23rd) put already applied penetrating primer to the floors and walls downstairs as well.

Today we spend the day figuring out how we want our tiles put on the floors and walls. I am pretty excited to see what changes we will see next week.

Our painter started his work today, our tile guy brought his work stuff and we carried our bathtubs upstairs (with a little help from our friends) so they wouldn’t hurt they stairway once it’s painted. Tiles and hardwood floors should be delivered soon as well.

Our mailbox is here! Chris put it together and now all we have to do is get some cement, dig a hole and put it up 🙂
Since I hate decisions and couldn’t decide on just one design, we now have a spring/summer mailbox and a fall/winter mailbox 🙂 Oh well. Didn’t cost nearly as much as this house 🙂 🙂 🙂

We also found out that our building company was smart enough to put one of our room thermostats (which has a build in sensor to check the temperature) in the wrong room so we had to drill a hole all the way through our wall.

Chris also drilled some holes for spots in the kitchen and the stairway while the kids and I were building a snowman, had a snowball fight and went sledding on our villages really big sledding hill. It was a lot of fun! Enjoy the pics. Goodnight everyone 😀
